Spot spraying weeds with a drone map

Spray only where the weeds are. PIX4Dfields turns one drone flight into a spot spraying prescription in under 10 minutes, offline in the field. Pix4D reports potential herbicide savings of up to 80%.

Steps

  1. Fly the field with an RGB or multispectral drone and load the images into PIX4Dfields. Processing runs on your laptop, without internet.
  2. Set a grid over the orthomosaic or the index layer. Each grid cell becomes a decision: spray or do not spray.
  3. Teach the Magic tool two labels: one for weed patches and one for clean crop. It classifies every cell of the field from those examples.
  4. Review the map and correct any cell by hand.
  5. Export the prescription as ISOXML, Shapefile, GeoJSON or KML, or send it to John Deere Operations Center. Pix4D lists compatibility with DJI, XAG, TopGun, EAVision and ABZ spray drones.
